About
João Porto de Albuquerque is Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Systems of the Institute of Mathematical and Computing Sciences in the University of São Paulo (Brazil) and Research Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
João Porto de Albuquerque received his B.Sc. (2002) and Ph.D. in Computer Science (2006) from the Institute of Computing at the State University of Campinas, Brazil. During the doctoral studies his research work was directed to the configuration management and the modelling of security policies for network security systems in complex organisations. Part of the research work was performed in a two-year research stay (2004-2006) in the Working Group Computer Networks and Distributed Systems at University of Dortmund (now Technical University Dortmund), funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). He is Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and spent a post-doctoral research stay (2006-2008) at Department Informatics of the University of Hamburg.
His current research focus lies on the sociotechnical aspects of Information Systems, Software Engineering and Information Technology Services. Building upon theories from Science and Technology Studies (STS) and social studies of Information Systems, he is interested in investigating the co-production of technology, organizational forms, society, and human behaviour.
