Rethinking Pedagogy in Multiple Educational Contexts: A Glocal Framework to ICT Meaningful Approaches to Learning

The rapid dissemination of ICT in the postcontemporary world is raising new challenges, namely in... more The rapid dissemination of ICT in the postcontemporary world is raising new challenges, namely in terms of information, knowledge and learning. An education policies movement is trying to formally address the challenges posed by educational projects that intentionally include ICT in formal learning spaces, from the design of those initiatives to the evaluation phases. In this context, a comprehensive integrative methodology seems critical to create adequate implementations and prompt meaningful results from ICT usage as a learning medium. The ik-Model presented in this article is a JP-ik framework forged from field experience and validated in real case scenarios around the world (Europe, Africa, Middle East and Latin America)that aims to guide and support a meaningful integration of new technologies in singular education scenarios, engaging stakeholders across the whole spectrum of the process. This model proved to be effective as a glocal approach that contextually addresses each component of an ICT integrative project for education, fulfilling the potential of ICT in terms of the enhancement of real and meaningful (learning and living) opportunities for all.

The Cosmetics, Personal Hygiene and Perfumery industry has significant importance in Brazil and s... more The Cosmetics, Personal Hygiene and Perfumery industry has significant importance in Brazil and seeks to adopt concepts and technologies of sustainable development to generate competitive advantages that can be achieved by companies in the industry. In this context, this research proposes to identify the perception of sustainability in recycling, mainly plastic packaging, and to suggest the use of Green Logistics and Cradle-to-Cradle concepts and the use of Communities of Practice. The research has a qualitative nature, using the methodology of multiple case studies with several companies in the industry, the data collection was performed through interviews with semi-structured questionnaire and documentary analyzes. The results were the identification of the companies' perceptions regarding sustainability and a suggestion of the application of the QFD method in the systematic unfolding between the needs of the consumer and the quality characteristics of the product that can be applied in these cooperatives to determine, with the presentation of their aspects and the generation of a quality matrix with the requirements raised.

Para isso, realiza-se uma investigacao qualitativa teorica e de campo em duas Instituicoes de Ensino Superior em Minas Gerais, sendo uma particular e uma publica, e tendo como sujeitos da pesquisa 30 docentes engenheiros. Os objetivos especificos que direcionaram os caminhos da investigacao foram: i- analisar como os docentes engenheiros utilizam as TIC em sua pratica pedagogica; ii- investigar o que pensam os professores sobre as TIC; identificar os motivos que levam os professores ao uso das TIC; iv- conhecer como se deu/da a formacao dos docentes engenheiros para o uso das TIC; v- identificar possiveis experiencias significativas com o uso das TIC em sala de aula. Embora o QFD seja uma metodologia reconhecida da gestao da qualidade para aumentar a satisfacao dos clientes, com base no entendimento de suas necessidades, e para aprimorar o desenho de servicos que atendam ou excedam expectativas dos clientes, algumas limitacoes sao apresentadas no metodo. A aplicação de ensino-aprendizagem foi orientada por enfermeiras especializadas no atendimento à gestante, combinando o uso de metodologias de desenvolvimento de Engenharia de Software, Design Instrucional Sistemático e Processo Unificado. O protótipo apresenta exercícios e instrumentos para lembrar as gestantes das técnicas e tem como objetivo conscientizar sobre a importância da participação, apresentando recursos que facilitam o melhor desempenho das atividades respiratórias com acompanhamento diário do desempenho. Este estudo visa contribuir para a educação em saúde para gestantes. The concept of "smart city" has become more present in academic literature and public policy in r... more The concept of "smart city" has become more present in academic literature and public policy in recent years, due in large part to the growing importance of cities in the global context. For the first time in history, most of the global population lives in cities. Although they represent only 2% of the world's surface, urban areas consume more than 70% of the world's total resources. As a result of rapid population growth, cities are facing challenges that lead them to seek innovative approaches to manageme nt and organization. City managers need indicators to measure performance in providing services and improving the quality of life for the population, assessing the development of local public policies and benchmarking with other cities. It should be noted that to meet this need there was an expressive appearance of city rankings, but many of them focus only on the final result and do not present a clear methodology. In addition, the availability of open, standardized and up-to-date city data is a challenge. The objective of this article is to present a comparative analysis between two rankings of smart cities: the European ranking of European Smart Cities and the Brazilian ranking Connected Smart Cities. An exploratory study was carried out with bibliographical research on the theoretical concepts of intelligent cities, rankings and measures of city performance. A case study in the cities of São José dos Campos (Brazil) and Toulouse (France) was also carried out. The present study found that the analyzed rank ings show convergences in most of their indicators. The European ranking has more academic characteristics and provides a more indepth analysis of the data of the cities, and the choice of indicators for both rankings reflects the current situation of each region analyzed with regard to its development.
